Chevrolet’s Industry-First Buckle to Drive Feature Reminds Teen Drivers to Buckle Up


Chevrolet Canada has introduced an industry-first Buckle to Drive feature that can help remind young drivers to buckle up before driving. Buckle to Drive is standard in the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse, and when active can prevent the driver from shifting the vehicle out of park if the driver’s seat belt is not buckled. Buckle to Drive is only available through the vehicle’s Teen Driver mode and builds upon Chevrolet’s Teen Driver system, introduced in 2015, as another step to help teen drivers stay safe on the road.

The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado’s available 3.0L Duramax inline-six turbo-diesel engine adds choice and versatility for full-size truck customers, offering class-leading torque and horsepower in addition to focusing on fuel economy and capability. It is the first-ever inline-six turbo-diesel offered in Chevrolet’s full-size light-duty trucks.

General Motors will auction the final production seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette this summer, with the proceeds benefiting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Employee Spotlight - George Floarea


Meet George Floarea, a Lead Mechanical Project Engineer on the Urban Mobility team at GM Canada. George joined the GM Canada engineering team 20 years ago upon immigrating to Canada. A career highlight for George is the newly developed eBike, ARīV, that he helped build from the ground up. He says, “The project is as much challenging as it is exciting.” He is also very proud of his several patents that have saved GM over $30 million dollars.

Shoney has always loved cars and her passion grew when she joined GM Canada in early 2018 after immigrating from India. Every day she looks forward to coming to work for a company that embraces all cultures with an open collaborative mindset. Shoney’s journey inspires us to take on challenges in a new environment.
